car loan-i'm panicking! [18 May 2008|08:46am]

ask_me_anything

[reconstructing]
So I decided to try to buy a used car. I narrowed it down to 2 cars that I like that I found through autotrader.com. I managed to find each dealer's website thru autotrader and on each was a form to "apply for credit". I filled it out (SSN, employment info, etc)....but the problem is, I filled it out for BOTH cars (ie-on 2 different dealerships websites). My rational was, I apply for credit now (at both places), go look at the cars and when I decide which one I want, I'll have already applied for the credit so it will expediate the process of obtaining the car.

Of course, the problem is now I got to thinking and I'm afraid that because I applied for credit from 2 places, both places will grant me the credit and I'll be committed to taking the loan if approved and end up having to purchase both cars. Is this how it works? (you'll have to excuse me, I'm totally dumb abotu this kind of stuff). Or could I simply "accept" the loan for the car decide to get and that's the end of it.

Thanks so much!

edit to add: do you think it will hurt my credit score for having applied for both?

Turning in my notice at [$PUB] today. Long story short, the money's gone down and the disrespect and bullshit have gone way up (and long ago somebody left with the cup), so, yeah. I'll miss the other girls, but it's just not worth the exhaustion and stress any more. If I need to, I can pick up another gig at a place near UT, where they'll probably need summer laborers.

Too tired to say much more. String of double shifts + insomia = ACES

Working with furniture, playing with furniture, being squashed by furniture [18 May 2008|08:36pm]

[ mood | motivated ]

So I figured out what was eating at me last week. Two things:

  • Thing #1 - I've become ridiculously responsible in the last two years. Something needs doing, I do it. I'm terribly efficient. This has its drawbacks, however...
Thing 1 thoughts )

  • Thing #2 - As I've injured myself not once, but three times in the last month to the point where I could barely walk, I've not had as much exercise as I usually get.
It seems so obvious, but exercise = more endorphins = happier Sassa. I've barely been able to go for walks or dance or swim or anything this last month, and my mood has dropped correspondingly. As I began to exercise again, I perked up (but then bellydanced for three hours and injured myself again - opps).

I'm slowly getting over my current injury though - I haven't been taking it easy, I've been shifting furniture and doing excessive cleaning of other people's houses ('coz I'm awesome) but hopefully I haven't exacerbated my injury too much. I should be better for next week's bellydance classes (I'm taking three at the moment XD)

Steel-capped boots are excessive win. I would have hurt my feet so much this weekend without them!

So, I am happy and things are good. I just need to take a holiday, work out where I want to go next with life, and see some good friends, some of whom may be made of paper and smell of libraries. And start exercising again, as soon as I am recovered from my latest injury ^^;

holy crap, anteaters are cute.. so random..

i just got caught up on the last couple episodes of "supernatural".. i thought the finale was alright. the very last shot was pretty cheesy, and i definitely have some gripes. but whatever, over all i still enjoyed it. i'll be looking forward to next season to see what happens. (i'm guessing ____ won't be staying in ____ for long.)

and bela.. ahh, bela.. i luv her...

"supernatural" manages to stay entertaining.. i still like it as much as i ever did. but for some reason it never quite crosses over into the super awesome category for me.. it's like the show that constantly has the potential to become SO freakin' sweet, but for whatever reason, it never quite crosses that bridge. i can never put my finger on it.. i think the characters and the actors and the world and everything works.. it's just the writing (or maybe it's the episodic formula) that falls a little short. it feels like they're afraid to take chances. we never truly feel like anyone's in danger.. even if someone "dies," you know they're only a deal with a demon away from coming back. they need to grow some balls and start surprising us. i want them to hire on a whole new team of writers and i want them to KICK OUR ASSES! shake up the formula!

totally rambling now. it's 7am. i reeeaally need to get some frickin' sleep.

About transparency in Indesign CS3 [18 May 2008|01:37pm]

graphicdesign

[mikado_tee]

Hello there

I have a .eps file that I would like to use as a "can't remember what the term is" background image that is toned down to 10% normal transparency.

The image is a leaf, 2 colors, on a writhing paper that will be printed offset.

But I have never worked with transparency in 10% - so I would like your opinion and experience. Does it work like it is suppose to, like a discreet background image.

Thanks

"On the subject of this cartoon, my editor said I could just as easily label the guy "Congress" or "Big Government." But I wanted to focus for a change on modern American society's obsession with "stuff." With inflation pushing the price of goods ever higher, people are struggling to maintain their standard of living and stick to a budget. Eve told me the other day about a guy she used to work with who had a TV in every room of his house and inside his car. Apparently, he said he needed all of them. I wonder how his credit score is doing nowadays."

.swf or .flv ?? [18 May 2008|02:43am]

webdesign

[_benbenben_]
I have an .avi file that I want to embed on my site, well actually I've converted it to a .swf and .flv file. Both conversions result in huge file sizes at almost 13megs, from a 34meg .avi file.
Without the tools to convert my original .avi file.

What are my best options to shrink and re-encode my video file?

Mine was 9 years ago, "Runaway Bride."

I don't live under a rock, there just hasn't been a movie that I had to see before it was released on DVD.
