In pains me to think we have at least a bazillion shopping days left until Christmas Day. That means a bazillion days of stomaching super mega blowout sales, tacky decorations, blind consumerism, pseudo holiday cheer and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, I love celebrating the actual holiday itself and spending time with friends and family - it's just that all the hubbub that surrounds the holiday that makes the day of the actual event rather anticlimactic for me. Hm, yes, I won't rant about that now because I'm more concerned about something else...
Christmas cards!
About 3 years ago, I attempted to send all of my friends a Christmas card. The venture turned out to be more stressful than I had intended it to be, but in the end everyone got their card and seemed to enjoy it (if I spelled their name correctly, hey Trev (
scatter)? Heehee!).
Right. I think I'm ready to put my design degree to use this year and make some of my own. I'm thinking of going with a retro feel - lines that look like free brush pen strokes with offset muted coloring, something akin to this:

or

However, I intend to draw a couple of people into the card, so even these serve as good references:

or

I'm still undecided as to what will actually GO on the Christmas cards, but I have a rough idea. I'm thinking of making them super small and super cute, and printed on textured paper with a slight tan tint to it. Ahhh, it will be AWESOME.
I hope.
Alright, off to find myself a pair of new earrings to replace the old ones I lost when I went to go see Pride and Prejudice. TEARS!
